Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 24, 2026 · Pagey Site
The short version: We collect only what we need to operate the Service. We do not sell your personal data. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
This Privacy Policy explains how Pagey Site ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use Pagey Site (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account data — email address and hashed password when you create an account.
- Site content — HTML files, ZIP archives, and any other files you upload to the Service.
- Communications — messages you send to us via email or support channels.
- Payment information — billing details collected and processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store raw card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Log data — IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps when you access the Service.
- Site analytics — aggregate visitor counts and basic request metadata for sites you host, used to display usage statistics in your dashboard.
- Cookies & sessions — see the Cookies section below for full details.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies — cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to function. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or any cookies for profiling purposes.
Cookies we set
-
pagey_session(authentication session) — An HttpOnly, Secure session cookie set when you log in. It stores a token that maps to your session in our database and keeps you authenticated across requests. This cookie expires after 90 days or when you log out. -
pagey_share_<siteId>(secure share access) — Set when you visit a site via a secure share link. It stores a token that grants access to that specific site without requiring a password. This cookie expires when the share token expires (set by the site owner, up to 30 days). -
pagey_site_access_<siteId>(password-protected site access) — Set when you successfully enter the password for a password-protected hosted site. It maintains your authenticated session for that site so you don't need to re-enter the password on every visit. This cookie is site-specific and expires according to the session lifetime configured by the site owner.
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-preserving, open-source analytics platform. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not share data with third parties. It collects only aggregate, anonymised page-view data (e.g., page URL, referrer, browser language, screen size) solely to help us understand how the Service is used. No information that can identify you personally is collected or stored by Umami.
Local storage
We store a small number of non-sensitive preferences in your browser's localStorage (e.g., your cookie consent choice and recently deployed anonymous sites). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service;
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account;
- Process payments and send billing-related communications;
- Send transactional emails (e.g., password resets, site expiry notices);
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms of Service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for targeted advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — third-party vendors that help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing, transactional email). They are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to us.
- Legal requirements — when required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Service before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent — in any other circumstances where you have given explicit consent.
4. Publicly Accessible Content
Sites you publish on the Service are publicly accessible by default unless you enable password protection. Do not publish content containing personal information that you do not intend to make public. We are not responsible for third-party access to content you choose to make publicly available.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Anonymous sites may be automatically deleted after an inactivity period according to your plan tier. Analytics data is retained for a rolling window as defined by your tier limits.
After account deletion, we may retain certain data for a limited period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashing all authentication tokens and passwords, using HTTPS for all data in transit, and restricting internal access to personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate data;
- Request deletion of your account and associated data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Data portability (receive a copy of your data in a structured format).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@pagey.site. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice in the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
